Taco Bell, a Yum! Brands division with 9,030 restaurants at the end of 2025, is the group's furthest along on voice AI: its vendor Omilia says the drive-thru voice ordering they began in 2023 now runs in more than 890 U.S. restaurants across 38 states (July 2026). Taco Bell U.S. also runs on Byte by Yum!, the group's AI-driven ordering, point-of-sale and back-of-house software introduced in 2025.

Wendy's built FreshAI, a generative-AI drive-thru ordering system, with Google Cloud: piloted in Columbus, Ohio from June 2023, live at more than 160 U.S. restaurants by May 2025, and targeted at 500-plus by the end of that year. Wendy's has not published how many restaurants it actually reached, so the scale of the rollout across its 7,397 restaurants is not documented.
