Its AI is one early programme: BK Assistant, introduced in February 2026, and «Patty», a voice-AI headset assistant piloted in about 500 U.S. restaurants — under 3% of the system — with a U.S.-wide rollout planned by the end of 2026.

Yum! Brands sold Pizza Hut in 2026: the business outside mainland China to LongRange Capital, completed on 1 September, and Pizza Hut China to Yum China. The AI described here was built while Pizza Hut was a Yum! division — the Byte by Yum! platform and the Dragontail kitchen-and-delivery system Yum! acquired — and the completion release does not say which of those tools stay with Pizza Hut. System units fell in 2025 after rising the year before.
